How do I change the AlmaLinux hostname?

You can change the hostname from the customer portal, but this also reinstalls and wipes all data. See our guide to change the hostname without reinstalling. Note that AlmaLinux needs to be rebooted one time after a new deployment to fully set the hostname.

How do I keep AlmaLinux secure?

We recommend several security practices: Make sure you have automatic backups enabled. Perform all admin tasks with sudo as a non-root user. Keep your AlmaLinux server up-to-date with software and security patches. Use the Vultr firewall, the AlmaLinux firewall, or both.

How do I reset the AlmaLinux root password?

Use our troubleshooting guide to reset the root password in single-user mode.

Where can I find networking help for AlmaLinux?

How do I recover an AlmaLinux instance that won't boot?
