Goods and Service Tax (GST) and Harmonized Sales Tax (HST)

Vultr charges GST and HST to customers with a tax location in Canada. Some Canadian businesses may be able to claim a refund on taxes paid. Visit the Canada Revenue Agency’s website for more information.

Provincial Sales Tax (PST)

The provinces of British Columbia and Manitoba each levy a PST at 7%, in addition to the 5% GST, for a total tax rate of 12% on services provided by Vultr. For users located in Saskatchewan, Vultr collects a 6% PST in addition to 5% GST for a total tax rate of 11% on digital services provided.

This complies with provincial requirements in accordance with Budget 2020 and the Saskatchewan Ministry Information Notice, respectively.

Quebec Service Tax (QST)

Quebec’s sales tax is a VAT structure in the same manner as the GST and HST. The QST is charged in addition to the 5% GST and is levied at the rate of 9.975% for a total tax rate of 14.975% on the services provided to customers with a tax location in Quebec.

This complies with the registration requirement of the Government of Quebec for companies outside of Quebec who supply taxable services to customers in Quebec to collect and remit Quebec Service Tax (QST).
